Sewing with a kid...

...just not my own, but maybe that makes it even more fun.
Over the past few days I've had a sweet, little treat come to my house every afternoon to do a wee bit of sewing. And, despite the fact that she's just barely out of second grade, look what she manged to make:
Hey, it's reversible too.
Also, if you think the first side featured is my cheater cloth from my a stitch in color line, you're mistaken. This little gal pieced together a slew of 2 1/2" squares to make the patchwork for the front and back of her tote. She selected the fabrics as well. Fearlessly. A girl after my own heart.

What a great post - its fun for you both and she gets a new bag and the satisfaction of something she made herself. Cant wait until I can sew with my 3 yr old Grandaughter.

Awesome! Starting the love early. My daughter is a bit young and my sons aren't really interested, but I keep trying!

What a great bag. I hope to have a young sewist come to my house in a few weeks.

That smile just says it all. Such pride! What a beautiful bag. My eight-year-old has recently learned to knit, and now I think I'll have to teach her more about sewing, too!

I have been blogging about sewing with my 7 yr. old granddaughter lately!! When I saw your blog post title at another blog, I had to come see for myself. I love the time I spend with my Gpeep. Their enthusiasm is contagious! Love her bag and color choices! I am also glad to have discovered your blog!! I think I'll be back for more visits. Come by my place if you have a minute!!
Blessings
