I love stripes. Not so much for wearing. I'm more of a solids with the occasional prints kind of person. But I like piecing with stripes. They're so directional and you can manipulate that and that's fun.
Also, they're probably the simplest pattern to create with wax. Just draw lines and add dye. Perfect.
I had hoped to have this quilt ready to show today, but it looks like it will be finished over the weekend. Maybe I'll craft a few little items out of the wonderful pile of striped scraps leftovers.
What about you? What are you loving to make this weekend?
Have a good one!
NO!!!!! sell you scraps to me:) I love those stripes, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGoals for this weekend are to finish writing Easter basket tutorial, make some potholders and finish piecing a quilt top. Probably too ambitious.
This weekend includes a Fun Quilts trunk show! And then some writing, eating, and finishing up some funky and silly Daddy dolls for my girls.
ReplyDeletePS Type in your title, unless it was intentional? I thought you might like to know.

ReplyDeleteThe striped fabric is gorgeous - the colors so vibrant.
ReplyDeleteI actually have my mind set on making a "Mini Quilt Monday" project, and have some of it cut out already. It is all planned in my head, the only problem is time. It is already Sat pm here and so far nothing has been accomplished!

I love your stripes too! And if you say they're easy, maybe I'll try some of my own! Or if you're going to sell those small square packs, I'd buy one of stripes!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I think I may go running (a new thing) and get my hallway ready to paint.
Terrific stripes.
ReplyDeleteyou have the best scraps! :)
ReplyDeletei don't do well with directional quilts; i never pay attention to which way i'm cutting. i just do what's easiest. often that results in some any-which-way stripes.
this weekend i'm working on a bow tie quilt for my sister. i purchased fabrics and cut them all today. tomorrow i guess i'm sewing 49 bow tie blocks!
I am making Easter dresses for my daughters!
ReplyDeleteMy plans today include finishing the job of sorting my scraps by color. Then I want to make a couple of house blocks for Bumblebeans' House Block Gather at http://bumblebeans.blogspot.com/p/block-gather.html
ReplyDeleteI love your striped fabrics, and the colors are great! I am wishing for some sewing time this weekend, and it won't be much, unfortunately. I hoping to eek out time for at least a mini or baby quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour stripes are perfectly gorgeous and the colors so luscious. I love stripes too and you're inspiring me to make some of my own. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThose colours are AMAZING! Love your blog, so colourful.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend includes the sewing expo here in metro Atlanta. I will then work in the studio piecing my thoroughly modern shoofly quilt. I also have the hexagon bug -- BAD. I am cutting strips for 3.5 hexagons. For my next quilt
