Just a few little peaks of a quilt started, put aside, and now emerging at the front of my list of projects to finish for a friend's new arrival.
Throughout the pregnancy, the parent's referred to their wee one as cupcake.
I hope to have the quilt finished in time for the baby naming in a week and a half. Until then it will be Cupcake's Quilt.
Looks great! FYI, I have a project I've been keeping under wraps because I've not seen anyone else do what I'm doing . . . until tonight. I made up this plan to make rings from pentagons. Where did you get your idea?
ReplyDeleteLooks great.. cant wait to see the finished product!! Cupcake will love it!
ReplyDeleteAaah bless, I'm sure she'll love it.
ReplyDeletewhat a great pattern, malka! i am sure cupcake will love it.
ReplyDeleteI am guessing these are LARGE blocks. I love the look of a really large block with very very interesting fabrics in the mix. Somehow they look more contemporary than the teeny pieced things of the past.
ReplyDeleteI really like the subtle grey/white circular dying in the center of the "flower." It gives it dimentionality and complexity.
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely. I always feel that large images are easier for babies to focus on and enjoy. At least, that is what I operated on when I made my quilt for my son.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics and the placement. Little "Cupcake" will treasure this quilt for her whole life.
Looks wonderful! Will be watching and waiting to see the finish.
ReplyDeleteReally love the addition of the plains to this one Malka, it really adds to the excitement and boldness. Can't wait to see it finished :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky Cupcake. I love the pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and pattern and I'm sure Cupcake will too.
ReplyDeleteI love cupcake as a new baby nickname. I've heard some good ones(gus-gus, festus, fluffy...) but that's just lovely! And the quilt blocks really fit, don't they!
ReplyDeleteAnna
I love when a name/design come together so perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful, and your friend (and her baby!) will adore it. I've never tried quilting, but I think they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteColor again. I think I am going to have to stop reading you. I feel so - unproductive - when I hold myself up to my image of you. Drat. Surely I did SOMETHING cool today.
