I'm still making circles, but it's too big to fit on my design wall and a little difficult to photograph.
This Sunday I'm getting some training on a long arm machine and I've already scheduled the time for quilting this piece. The woman I found charges a set price for an initial class and then you can rent the machine by the hour. I'm incredibly happy and relieved that I've decided to quilt this baby with a long arm. Frankly just the thought of the hours it was going to take me to baste it was making my head spin and my butt hurt( I usually baste big quilts on the floor).

Too cute! I can't wait to see it when it's all done.
I'm working on a queen-sized quilt at the moment (the biggest one I've yet done.) I'm hoping that my sewing machine can handle the quilting part of it, though I'm not looking forward to wrestling it around!

OK so are the circles comprised of dye resisted "spots" ( heh) on
commercial and or previously dyed fabrics???

Oh! It has been so exciting watching the progress of this one! It is really beautiful, and the block placement is perfect.

you will do okay on the long arm...especially since you get a lesson with practice...it is a hand eye coordination thing since you are standing and have to walk down the quilt as you go and you cannot turn or pivot your work, but these are things you get used to and learn to work through. good luck.
Hi, I'm going to have to embarrass myself and ask how you've done the lovely circles on this quilt? You've dyed them right? Did you just stick some spots on before you put them in the dye? Sorry, obviously I have no idea about such things! lol.
