Two different kinds of fruit, two different labors, and two distinctly different results.
First there's this kind:
Luscious, little key limes. They were totally an impulse purchase. I was completely drawn in by their appearance, especially so because I've never bought or cooked with key limes before. Naturally this necessitated my finding a recipe because along with being impulsive, I'm inherently cheap and I wasn't going to let these guys go to waste. I knew that I didn't want to make key lime pie. I realize it's the obvious answer, but I've never really liked key lime pie. I thought I'd like to make some cookies. And a few keystrokes later I had all the info I needed to make these:
Key lime cookies with homemade key lime curd. Go ahead. The appropriate response is yummmm. I used recipes I found here and here . The curd recipe is for lemon curd, but I figured substituting limes wouldn't be a big deal.
The second fruit, a pepper, went into another kind of recipe.
I used it to stamp these fabrics and after I was done dipping it in wax it didn't exactly look delicious.
But, like the key limes, it helped to contribute to a finished product that I hope will be enjoyed.

Wow, you're so good! Love the fabric.
Congratulations on the additional Quilting Arts Magazine exposure! Love the understated palette and your use of it.
I love your work. I am so enthrilled to read about it and to see your projects and your fabric from cookies to pillows, .... but I would mind just moving in your studio and being right there. You are doing great work.
Don't worry - I am staying right where I am and just keep following your blog.
Both are delicious!
Another beautiful entry. Just received my Quilting Arts issue and loved your article. I am usually all for the bright and contemporary but now see how lovely the subtle can mixing both contemporary and traditional. Thank you for all your inspiration

do you ship cookies with the fabric?
Hi Jennifer- I'd send some cookies but they're all gone. I myself woke up just a little earlier this morning to have one of the last ones.
The fabric is so beautiful! Glad you were inspired, 'cause that inspires me!
