Best Laid Plans

What do you do when they don't work out exactly as you anticipated?
Display the plans on your blog and say pattern and variations coming soon.
In the meantime, a few details.
I'm calling this the Flower Power Baby Quilt and it measures about 48" across the diameter. I'm tossing around a couple of ideas for the variations but one would change up the widths of the strips and the other might use upholstery solids because would this not be too fabulous as a rug? I think yes. I'll have it quilted and bound in the next few days and might even shoot some location pictures as the temperature is predicted not to rise past 100 for the next few days. That's what we call a cold front in Texas.

I can't say I miss the Texas heat in the summer although we sure do freeze here in Iowa in the winter.

I love the shot of the seams. I can't wait to read more.

I love this design! As a rug it would also be wonderful.

Thats awesome - I'd love to know how you deal with the middle not being too bulky, I have that problem when doing stars. Nice colour too

Rug, most definitely awesome. I too am interested in how you deal with all that bulk at the center!

A lovely desgign, unusual yet a classic.
It would require a little too much expertise for me to sew it, though!

LOVE the flower quilt, and can't wait to see how it finished up.

It's "COOL" here in Houston, as well. It didn't make it above 84 by 8 am - it's practically frosty.

Also experiencing the "cold front" here in Dallas. Congrats on the fabric design news. That's a dream of mine, too!

This is beautiful...and would definitely be a great rug. I like the colors, as well as the pattern. As far as your cold front - my daughter is in Killeen and tells a similar tale:).
